Continuing Education
Continuing Education (CE) is an important part of the electrical trade. It allows electricians to update their knowledge, network with industry professionals, and state compliant with state laws and rules.
To better serve Utah's electrical industry, our Continuing Education (CE) class prices will be increasing as the license renewal deadline gets closer.
By encouraging electricians to complete their CE requirements early, we can reduce the likelihood of classes reaching capacity near the renewal deadline. This helps minimize the risk of someone being unable to secure a seat in time, which could result in their license expiring before they have completed the required education. This pricing model will allow us to spread demand over several months rather than having the majority of registrations occur at the last minute. By doing so, we can accommodate the needs of as many electricians as possible.
Registering early not only saves you money, but also helps ensure a smoother experience for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to helping you complete your CE requirements well before the renewal deadline.

Trainings to Keep You Safe, Certified & Compliant
Refund and Reschedule Requests: Requests to cancel or reschedule must be done through email at least two (2) business days prior to the class for a refund. Refunds will exclude credit card processing fees.

DOPL Uploads: Continuing education hours are uploaded to DOPL within one week of the class completion date. Contact the IEC office within one week of the class with any changes or corrections (for example: incorrect license number, not specifying licenses in other states, not submitting all license numbers, etc.). Failure to submit the correct name, correct license number, or correct state where you need CE applied may delay the upload to DOPL.

In-person courses: All in-person courses will be held at IEC of Utah, 7044 Commerce Park Drive, Midvale, UT 84047. For 8-hour classes, there is generally a 30 minute break provided to accommodate lunch. Lunch is not provided by IEC of Utah, however, there are several restaurants in close proximity. A refrigerator and microwave are also on-site.

Webinar-style courses: For your simulcast course to be correctly recorded, you must submit the proper registration form and you must log in to the online course with your first and last name. Webinar courses must be attended via visual interface. Audio-only (call-in) participation will not be counted.

Out-of-State Licenses: IEC provides certificates and/or uploads for courses taken in other states for an additional upload charge. Requests for other states must be made at the time the course is taken.
