Expedited Licensure
In 2020, Utah DOPL introduced an Expedited Licensure rule R156-55b-302c. This rule allows for apprentices to “test out” of various semesters of school.
Guidelines and Policies
-Apprentices who hold a Utah Apprentice License are eligible to take each test one time only (no retakes). To take a test, you must have successfully passed the previous semester’s class or test.
-All tests are administered by appointment only. Tests are written and hand-scored. Results will be available within 24 hours.
-There is a one-time $50 fee to begin the testing process. This fee allows you to continue testing (1A, 1B, 2A, etc.) until you fail.
-The $50 testing fee (minus credit card processing fees) is refundable if cancellation notice is given within two business days of the scheduled test date. Failure to provide timely notice will result in no refund. To cancel or reschedule, please email info@iecofutah.com.
-If a student passes a test, there is an additional $200 fee per semester. This fee covers maintaining the credit in our computerized report card system.
(For example, if you pass 2A and 2B, the total fee to maintain the transcript is $400.)
